Curating vintage and pre-loved collections created by two young women in Amsterdam. The idea behind it is to provide a selection of modern curated clothing while keeping responsibility in mind. Born from a "serendipity" moment, it is now rebranded "Ensō", referring to the Zen-circle which symbolizes creativity, enlightenment, and elegance

The brand hand-picks vintage pieces among thousands (yes, 1000+) garments: only a few will get the "wohoo!" feeling and come back home with the founders. 
Every item will then be carefully reviewed, cleaned, and repaired if needed

Liseth started Serendipity from a desire to wear modern curated clothing without harming people or the planet. After traveling around the world, the urge for a drastic change was stronger than ever.
Andrea, who has inherited her passion for vintage from her grandma and upcycling her mother's wardrobe, was eager to spread that "feeling of uniqueness" in a fresh way.
To make vintage accessible to everybody while building a better lifestyle was just the perfect serendipity moment that ended up in the birth of Ensō

Liseth and Andrea started Ensō from a desire to wear modern curated women by giving clothing a new life. Both coming from a fashion industry background, they decided to stay involved while feeling proud of the products they bring to other women, joining forces with others to pursue the same goal

A portion of Ensō's selection undergoes some kind of upcycling process before becoming a "new" unique piece of clothing

Pre-owned items are articles of clothing that have been retired from someone else closet. 

Pre-owned items already exist, so they require no additional resources and energy to create, contributing zero additional carbon emissions, pollution, and other environmental damages. Additionally, Pre-owned garments are being saved from being thrown away. Around €150 million worth of textile waste goes to landfill and waste each year. Buying pre-owned garments gives clothing second lives, building circularity in the fashion industry, and shortening the demand for new garments.

Pre-owned garments are also often more special because they are often one of a kind because they aren’t sold commercially anymore. They can make your wardrobe more unique, showing your individuality.

Pre-owned items help you reduce the impact of your purchase and close the loop. Around €150 million worth of textile waste goes to landfill and waste each year. By choosing pre-owned items you are keeping them in circle for longer.

All materials that Virón uses in their production are PETA certified vegan

Virón designed a closed loop for the purpose of drastically reducing their carbon footprint. Every piece is made from vintage fabrics dating 1930-1999. Ruby, the founder, sources these personally using her lifelong knowledge. These leftover pieces of fabric are so small that other brands would never bother to use them. Ruby, the founder says "I understand why— it's a super time-intensive business model. I am always spending way too much time negotiating prices, inspecting fabrics' condition, and giving my seamstress complex instructions about which remnants are for which styles"

You should know that Sheep Inc. has been the first brand in the world that saves and stores more carbon than it creates. 
The brand works with Carbon Footprint Ltd. to independently calculate and verify the negative carbon impact of each piece of knitwear produced. The partner they work with does an unbiased assessment of the entire cycle of life. This is called cradle-to-grave, meaning that they measure everything from where the first material is created until you/nobody else will no longer use it and discard it. To achieve carbon neutrality, they made a super partnership with all the companies they work with to make the products or offer them services. They are also using a high-technology treatment, called Eternity X-Care®, and 100% solar energy for knitting. To top it off also their partner for logistics is carbon-neutral - it's called Airbox

Sheep Inc.'s wool comes from family-owned sheep stations in New Zealand, which are part of the ZQ Program. They scour wool (clean of dirt and fibre) at Reda in Italy, the first B-Corp registered textile factory in Italy. Each garment is knitted at Fatextil in Portugal. All knitwear developed for Sheep Inc. incurs an extra €1 bonus per garment produced which is distributed equally to all staff. This results in an average salary increase of 20% per month

The Nude Label collaborated with Oxizonia, giving a percentage of their wood sandals sales to the organization, helping to preserve the Peruvian Amazon, recover vegetation, and protect the environment of the indigenous people that live there. The brand also incorporate sustainable materials into their designs. Their organic cotton used in their underwear is GOTs and OEKO-TEX 100 Standard certified and is grown with no pesticides, herbicides or harmful chemicals, helping to maintain soil fertility. Their swimwear, uses ECONYL® regenerated Nylon that reuses waste, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic from landfills and oceans all over the world, helping to clean up the Earth

All of The Nude Label's underwear and swimwear are made in a family-run factory in Valencia, Spain. Their closeness to the studio allows them to have a bigger control over the process and ensure good working practices. They make sure their production team has a healthy and safe working environment, are being paid fairly, have freely chosen employment and have snacks and homemade pastries available anytime - they love that!
