Studio Jux started a factory in Kathmandu, Nepal to maximise their social-economic impact in one of the poorest countries in the world. With their foundation, studiojux.org, they collected 50,000 euros and used it to help their employees, families, neighbours, suppliers and other people in the Nepali community. Studio JUX cooperates with other suppliers focused on women empowerment. Approximately 15% of the studio JUX collection is hand knitted in a women empowerment project in Nepal. The women empowerment project offers women the opportunity to hand knit the garments at home, as it is standard for women stay home after they are married in Nepali culture. Their jewellery is also handmade by another women empowerment project. They cooperate with the Association for Craft Producers (ACP), a non-profit fair trade organization that works together with low income craft producers, primarily women. These women earn wages to supplement family income and improve the overall standard of living
Studio Jux's collections offer a wide range of handmade contemporary designs: jewellery from recycled brass, hand knitted vests, hand woven items, paper products and rush baskets. They work together with highly skilled and experienced craftsman dedicated to deliver the best quality possible
As a factory owner, Studio Jux takes good care of their employees and offers living wages and social security. They work according to the International Labour Organization (ILO) principles, which promotes social justice and human and labour rights and believes that world peace can only exist when built on social equality and fairness. The company offers their employees a contract that includes days off to spend with family and friends and all team members have a steady income that does not depend on the amount of work generated for them. They also pay 100% of employees a living wage which they have calculated on the information of Asia Floor Wage and Fair Wear Foundation Wage Ladder
