MYAR collects military garments that have been worn by different lives, in different parts of the world, for different reasons. And after they are sat inside warehouses in forgotten piles, they take these garments from the past and give them a second life. The brand reuses, revives and recreates, customising vintage army gear into unique tailored pieces that reflect army life's values. Their materials are certified by ReLiveTex; verifying that they have been saved from landfill or incineration and promoted to new uses

Every MYAR garment comes with a QR code to discover the origin, re-creation and production process of the piece

MYAR uses hangtags made from organic fabric and are packaged with recycled paper and bio-based bags

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. 

Upcycling artists are inspired by the textile waste they see, which is almost an unlimited resource at this point. They create with the intention to use what is already here. This process is important in the circular fashion movement, because it makes use of discarded textiles, giving these materials second lives. 

Because discarded textiles are not typically sheets of fabric, but rather articles of discarded clothing, a lot of creativity is required to transform materials into new fashionable pieces. This challenge is exciting for upcycling artists, as they are driven and inspired to create with what is in front of them and often don’t have much to lose in the process, since discarded materials are readily available and cheap. Because of this, upcycled clothing is often unique as each piece has been thoughtfully crafted into a new garment.

This product is made by creatively upcycling materials that would otherwise go to waste. This makes better use of resources like deadstock fabrics: leftovers from big production that are saved by re-using them.
